Innami stone

This stone is mined near Tatsuyama in Iho Town, Takasago City, Hyogo Prefecture. It is also known as Tatsuyama Stone or Hoden Stone. It is a dark gray quartz trachyte tuff, and is classified as white stone, blue stone, red stone, and fuseishi. It is used as a building stone because it is resistant to fire, heat, and freezing, acid, and does not easily weather. It was also used for the "Stone Treasure Hall" of Oushi Shrine in Takasago City, and is said to have been used for stone coffins and ancient tombs during the Yamato Imperial Court period.

兵庫県高砂(たかさご)市伊保(いほ)町竜山(たつやま)付近でとれる石材。竜山石(たつやまいし)、宝殿石(ほうでんいし)の名でも知られる。濃灰色の石英粗面岩質凝灰岩で、石材としては白石、青石、赤石、布石などに区別されている。火熱や凍結に対して強く、耐酸性もあり、風化しにくいところから、建築用石材として利用されている。また、高砂市内の生石(おうしこ)神社の「石の宝殿」に使われたほか、大和朝廷の時代に石棺や古墳にも使われたといわれる。
