Emporion (English spelling)
Massilia was an ancient colony located on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, northeast of Barcelona. It is now called Ampurias. In the 3rd century, Rome established it as a foothold for its conquest of Spain, and it was under Roman rule ever since. Its inhabitants were natives, Greeks, and Romans.
