Kilowatt hour - Kilowatt hour

Also called kilowatt hour. It is a unit of energy such as work, heat, and power, but is used primarily to calculate the amount of power, especially electricity charges. In other words, 1 watt-hour is the energy (power, etc.) converted or consumed at a rate of 1 watt per hour, and it is 1000 times this. It is expressed in kWh. In the International System of Units, the unit of power is the joule or watt-second (1 kilowatt-hour is 3600 kilojoules or 3600 kilowatt-seconds), but since the kilowatt-hour is more widely used, it is considered a unit that can be used together.

キロワットアワーkilowatt hourともいう。仕事、熱量および電力量などのエネルギーの単位であるが、もっぱら電力量、ことに電力料金の算定に用いられている。すなわち、1ワットの割合で1時間に変換もしくは消費されるエネルギー（電力量など）を1ワット時とし、これの1000倍をいう。kWhで表す。国際単位系においては、電力量の単位はジュールまたはワット秒（1キロワット時は3600キロジュール、または3600キロワット秒）であるが、キロワット時が広く使われているため、併用してよい単位とされている。
