Chelate resin - Chelate resin

Chelate resin - Chelate resin
A general term for resins that have functional groups that can form chelate bonds with metal ions. They can also be considered a type of ion exchange resin. Multidentate groups are required to form chelate bonds, so iminodicarboxylic acid groups, polyamine groups, etc. are introduced into the polymer skeleton. The stability of these ligands and metal chelates depends mainly on the type of ligand, the type of metal ion, and the pH value of the solution, so they are used to selectively adsorb, separate, concentrate, and recover metal ions.
