Polished stone tools from the Jomon period. Also called Gomotsu-sekki. Named after they were presented to the Imperial Court. They are thick and rod-shaped, tapered slightly to one side from the center, and have an overall hatchet-like shape and are decorated with patterns. They are excavated in large numbers in Gifu Prefecture. Their use is unknown, but they are thought to be a modified version of some kind of stone tool and a stone product for religious purposes.
