The International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Their Families is a common name for the Convention. The United Nations Human Rights Commission began protecting the rights of foreign workers in the late 1970s, and in 1985 it enacted the Declaration on the Rights of Foreign Citizens. The Convention was then adopted by consensus at the United Nations General Assembly on December 18, 1990. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
