Anekoji-shi - Anekoji-shi

Japanese: 姉小路氏 - あねがこうじうじ
Anekoji-shi - Anekoji-shi

(1) A nobleman of the Kan'in line of the Northern branch of the Fujiwara clan. In the early 13th century, the third son of Sanjo Sanefusa, Kinnobu, lived in Anenokoji, Kyoto, and became the family name. The family was discontinued after a few generations. In the early Edo period, Kinkage, the son of Ano Saneaki, restored the family name. Kintomo, who was a nobleman of the Joiha faction at the end of the Edo period, is famous for being assassinated. After the Meiji Restoration, his son, Kinyo, was granted the title of count.

(2) The Fujiwara clan, northern branch, Koichijo line, whose descendant Morotada, Ietsuna, was appointed governor of Hida province during the Nanboku-cho period. They are also called the Hida kokushi family. They are one of the three kokushi families, along with the Kitabatake (Ise) and Ichijo (Tosa) families. They served as nobles for generations and traveled between Kyoto and the area. They were active in the Sengoku period from Kojima Castle in the same province, but Yoritsuna opposed Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and was destroyed in 1585 (Tensho 13) by Hideyoshi's general, Kanamori Nagachika.
