Kitsuregawa Kunitomo

Japanese: 喜連川国朝 - きつれがわくにとも

1572-1593 A military commander during the Oda-Toyotomi period.
Born in 1582. Grandson of Ashikaga Yoshiaki of the Oyumi Imperial Court. Eldest son of Ashikaga Yorizumi. First head of the Kiryugawa clan, lord of the Kiryugawa domain in Shimotsuke (Tochigi Prefecture). In 1582, Toyotomi Hideyoshi granted him 3,500 koku in Koga and Kiryugawa, and he became the husband of Ujihime, the surviving child of Koga Kubo Ashikaga Yoshiuji. On February 1, 1592, he died in Aki (Hiroshima Prefecture) on the way to Nagoya, Hizen (Saga Prefecture). He was 22 years old.

元亀(げんき)3年生まれ。小弓(おゆみ)御所足利義明の孫。足利頼純(よりずみ)の長男。下野(しもつけ)(栃木県)喜連川藩主喜連川家初代。天正(てんしょう)18年豊臣秀吉から古河(こが)と喜連川で3500石をあたえられ,古河公方(くぼう)足利義氏の遺児氏姫の婿となる。文禄(ぶんろく)2年2月1日肥前名護屋(佐賀県)にむかう途中,安芸(あき)(広島県)で死去。22歳。
