On July 28, he was executed by beheading at Rokuhara by his nephew Kiyomori along with his sons Nagamori, Tadatsuna, and Masatsuna. According to the "Hogen Monogatari," Tadamasa initially fled to Ise, but believed a story spread by Shinzei that there was no death penalty, became a monk, presented himself to Kiyomori, and was captured. Tadamasa's estates in Yamashiro, Ise, were confiscated and incorporated into the Goin estates of the retired Emperor Goshirakawa. Sawano Izumihei (Tadamori) Taira no Tadamori (1096 - 10 February 1153) A warrior of the late Heian period. He built the foundations of the Taira clan. His father Masamori was a close attendant to Emperor Shirakawa. Tadamori also became an attendant to the Emperor's north and was appointed as a Kebiishi. He started out as the governor of Hoki and served in various provinces, using his wealth to serve the retired emperor. He also served as a close aide to the Emperor during the reign of Emperor Toba, and in 1132 he was allowed to enter the palace as a reward for building Tokuchojuin. This was considered unprecedented and drew the ire of the nobles. The following year he was appointed to the Kanzaki Manor in Hizen Province and was sued for involvement in Japan-Song trade, and in 1135 he captured the leader of a group of pirates in the Western Sea, but rumors arose that he had framed an unrelated person as a pirate. Fujiwara no Yorinaga described Tadamori as a modest man, who had accumulated great wealth and had many family members. He was a senior fourth rank upper rank, and died in front of a nobleman. He wrote a waka poem, "Tadamorishu." (Fumihiko Gomi) Source: Asahi Japanese Historical Biography: Asahi Shimbun Publications Inc. About Asahi Japanese Historical Biography |
