〘noun〙 (analogy)① To consider one thing in relation to another. Especially in logic, to infer similarities in other respects from similarities between things in a specific respect. Analogy. An example is the wings of a bird and the wings of a butterfly. 〘名〙 (analogy)① ある事柄をもとに他の事柄をおしはかって考えること。特に、論理学で、物事の間の特定の点での類似性から、他の点での類似性を推論すること。類推。類比。※思ひ出す事など（1910‐11）〈夏目漱石〉三「具体的の事実を土台として、類推(アナロジー)で哲学の領分に切り込んで行く所を」② 生物学で、異種の個体内で器官の形態、機能が類似すること。鳥の羽と蝶のはねはその例。類似。③ 言語学で、類推による表現。※国語のため第二（1903）〈上田万年〉形容詞考「かかる甲種のまがりが普通となりし時に、語根に『し』を以て終る形容詞の一体あるときは、アナロジーの大法によりて、茲に乙種のまがりの生ずべきは論なかるべし」
