Grigorii Karpovich Kotoshikhin
Around 1630-67
A Russian author. He was a foreign ministry official, but left Russia in 1664 and traveled through Poland and Germany before settling in Stockholm, Sweden. His work "On Russia under the Reign of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich" is a valuable historical document about the court, diplomacy, administrative system, and various classes of the inhabitants of that time, but even in its objective descriptions, there are views that show contempt for the mother country that he had abandoned.
