Gyachung Kang (mountain) (English spelling)

Japanese: ギャチュン･カン[山]（英語表記）Gyachung Kang

It is part of the Khumbu Himal mountain range, and lies to the northwest of Everest, east of Cho Oyu, on the border between Nepal and Tibet. It is a horseshoe-shaped mountain at the source of the Ngojumba Glacier, with an elevation of 7,922m. It has been scouted since 1952, and in 1964, a team from the Nagano Prefecture Mountaineering Federation (led by Furuhara Kazumi) succeeded in summiting it for the first time. To the west of this mountain is Ngojumba Kang, with peak I at 7,806m, peak II at 7,646m, and peak III at 7,601m. In 1965, a Meiji University team was the first to summit peak II.
