Fake medicine
〘noun〙① Fake medicine. ※Yōjōkun (1713) 7 "Pseudo medicine is a fake medicine that is not real."② A drug used to judge the therapeutic effect of a certain drug, with the same appearance, taste, color, etc. as the original drug, but with the main ingredients removed. It is given at the same time as the drug whose therapeutic effect is to be known, and judged.

〘名〙① にせの薬。※養生訓(1713)七「偽薬とは真ならざる似せ薬也」② ある薬物の治療効果を判定するために使う、それと外形、味、色などはまったく同じで、主成分のみ除いてある薬物。治療効果を知りたい薬物と同時に与えて、判定する。
