Collection of ancient wooden slips from Huangwei

Japanese:
Collection of ancient wooden slips from Huangwei
A collection of ancient documents from within the Okayama domain compiled in 1793 (Kansei 5) by Saito Kazuoki, a feudal lord of the domain. The more than 900 documents collected in this book, dating from the end of the Heian period to the beginning of the Edo period, were in the possession of vassals, temples, shrines, and private homes within the domain. These documents are arranged by their owner in two parts, the castle and counties (Volumes 1-15) and the second part (Volume 16). Although the historical value is high, it is unfortunate that there are many misreadings and miscopyings. In 1971, an edited version, "Collection of Huangwei Ancient Documents," was published by the Okayama Prefecture Local History Research Liaison Council. [Taniguchi Sumio]
