Kitahiyama [town] - Kitahiyama
An old town on the west coast of the Oshima Peninsula in Setana District, Hokkaido. The main settlements are Higashi Setana, downstream of the Tobetsu River, and Futoro, an old fishing village from the Matsumae Domain era. The town produces rice, potatoes, milk, etc. Sea urchins, salmon, trout, flounder, etc. are also caught. In September 2005, the town merged with Taisei Town, Kuon District, and Setana Town, Setana District, to become Setana Town, Kuon District. 379.03 km2 . 6,097 people (2003).

北海道瀬棚(せたな)郡,渡島(おしま)半島西岸の旧町。利別(としべつ)川下流の東瀬棚と松前藩時代からの古い漁村の太櫓(ふとろ)が主要集落。米,ジャガイモ,牛乳などを産する。ウニ,サケ・マス,ヒラメなども漁獲する。2005年9月,久遠郡大成町,瀬棚郡瀬棚町と合併し町制,久遠郡せたな町となる。379.03km2。6097人(2003)。
