Equipment - Giso (English spelling) equipment

Ships

This is a general term for construction related to various equipment, facilities, piping, interior work, etc., carried out from the completion of the hull, the main part of a ship's structure, until the ship is ready to be put into service. Typical examples include steering gear, mooring gear, navigation instruments, and communication equipment in the maneuvering-related fields, and main engines, auxiliary engines, shafting, and propellers in the propulsion-related fields. Other examples include cargo-handling equipment, cargo hold facilities, accommodation facilities for passengers and crew, transportation equipment (stairs, ladders, passageways, boarding equipment), life-saving equipment, and firefighting and extinguishing equipment in the safety-related fields. Items related to the whole ship include piping equipment, ventilation equipment, air-conditioning equipment, control systems, electrical wiring, etc. Of these, important functions, control and electrical systems are tested during land trials, onboard tests, and sea trials.

aircraft

As with ships, this refers to the process of fitting and adjusting the various equipment and devices on an aircraft after the outer shell is completed so that it can function and be used as an aircraft. In other words, in parallel with the assembly of the outer shell, the engine, flight controls, landing gear, hydraulics, electrical equipment, compressed air, air conditioning, anti-icing, communication and navigation equipment, and related instruments and computers are fitted and adjusted. In passenger aircraft, there is also the installation and adjustment of cabin-related equipment, such as seats, galleys, coat rooms, restrooms, passenger entertainment systems, emergency equipment, etc., and in military aircraft, the installation and adjustment of armaments.

In addition, on ships, crew members are assigned to the ship from the outfitting stage and train on the ship, where they oversee and inspect the process. On the other hand, on aircraft, except for special aircraft, the equipment is complex and extensive, but the crew is small considering the number of aircraft, there are many aircraft, and the specifications are standardized. Therefore, crew members train at the training facilities of the aircraft manufacturer or user separately from the work on the aircraft, and oversight and inspection of the process is carried out by specialized inspectors.
