The 18th emperor of the Tang dynasty of China (reigned 873-888). His real name was Li Qian, and his first name was Yan. He was the fifth son of the 17th emperor, Yizong. He ascended to the throne at the age of 12 upon the death of his father. At the time, the eunuch Tian Lingzi and others held real political power, and power struggles continued among the local governors. In addition, peasant rebellions, such as the Wang Xianzhi Rebellion and the Huang Chao Rebellion, engulfed the entire country. The emperor avoided the rebellions by moving from Sichuan to Fengxiang, Xingyuan, and other places, and the decline of the Tang dynasty progressed further.

中国，唐の第 18代皇帝 (在位 873～888) 。本名は李けん，初名は儼。第 17代懿宗 (いそう) の第5子。 12歳のとき父の死により即位。当時は宦官田令孜らが政治の実権をもち，地方の節度使の間にも権力争いが続いた。また王仙芝 (おうせんし) の乱，黄巣の乱をはじめ，農民の反乱が起って全国を巻込み，帝は乱を避けて四川，鳳翔，興元などを転々として，唐朝の衰亡が一段と進んだ。
