Western Jin Dynasty (English spelling)

Japanese: 西晋 - せいしん（英語表記）Xī Jìn

The period of the Jin Dynasty in China when the capital was located in Luoyang. 265-316. Four generations from Emperor Wu Sima Yan to Emperor Min Sima Ye. It is distinguished from the Eastern Jin Dynasty, when the capital was moved to Jiankang (Nanjing) in Jiangnan. Shu had already fallen in 263 (Jingyuan 4) before the establishment of the Jin Dynasty, and in 280 (Taikang 1) Wu was conquered, putting an end to the three-state system. During the period of division between the collapse of the Later Han Dynasty and the establishment of the Sui Dynasty, China managed to unify the country for a time, but it was destroyed during the Rebellion of the Eight Kings and the rampant exploits of foreign tribes. 中国，晋王朝のうち洛陽に都が置かれた時代。265‐316年。武帝司馬炎から愍帝司馬鄴（ぎよう）まで4代。都が江南の建康(南京)にうつった東晋と区別される。晋王朝成立前の263年(景元4)にすでに蜀は滅び，また280年(太康1)には呉を征服して三国の鼎立に終止符を打ち，後漢王朝の崩壊から隋王朝が成立するまでの分裂の時代においていったんは天下統一を実現したが，八王の乱と異民族の跳梁のうちに壊滅した。晋【吉川忠夫】
