Kiseru (smoking pipe) - Kiseru
A smoking tool for chopped tobacco. It consists of a bowl, a gooseneck, and a mouthpiece, and is often connected in the middle by bamboo (rao). There are various types of giseru, such as the nobegiseru, which is made in one piece from gold, silver, bronze, or brass, the small, flat natame-style giseru, and the hanami-giseru, which is over three feet long and was used on outings during the Edo period. There are also many artistic ones with inlay or carving, but they are not widely used today. → Water pipe → Related items Raoya
