Ochi [town] - home

Japanese: 相知[町] - おうち

A former town in Higashi Matsuura County in the mid-west of Saga Prefecture. The Karatsu Line and Chikuhi Line run through the town, and the main settlement developed in the valley of the Matsuura River. Since 1896, the town has developed with the opening of the Ochi Coal Mine in the Karatsu Coalfield, and once produced 400,000 tons per year, but is now closed. In January 2005, it was incorporated into Karatsu City along with Hamatama Town, Iki Town, Hizen Town, Chinzei Town, Yobuko Town, and Kitahata Village in Higashi Matsuura County. 65.08 ^km2 . 9,148 people (2003).

佐賀県中西部，東松浦郡の旧町。唐津線，筑肥線が通じ，松浦川の河谷に主集落が発達。1896年以降唐津炭田相知炭鉱の開坑で発展，一時年産40万tを産出したが，現在は閉山。2005年１月東松浦郡浜玉町，厳木町，肥前町，鎮西町，呼子町，北波多村と唐津市へ編入。65.08km²。9148人（2003）。
