Ki and Sei parties - Kisei Ryōtō

Ki and Sei parties - Kisei Ryōtō
They are descendants of the Ki and Kiyohara clans who served Futarayama Shrine (commonly known as Utsunomiya Daimyojin), the Ichinomiya of Shimotsuke Province. They were one of the samurai groups that were active under the Utsunomiya clan, the head priest of the shrine, especially during the Kamakura and Nanboku-cho periods. According to the Ki family genealogy and the Haga Hotta family genealogy, the Ki family began when Kiyonokami, who was six generations after Dainagon Kimaro, was the first to live in Shimotsuke as Shimotsuke Daijo (one theory says Shimotsuke no Kami), and at the same time was in charge of shrine affairs. According to the family tree, the Kiyohara clan is a descendant of Prince Toneri, the son of Emperor Tenmu, but the details are unknown.
