…Recently, it has become difficult to take water from these irrigation canals due to the lowering of the riverbed downstream from Inuyama. To improve this situation, the Nobi Irrigation Project was launched, and as part of this, in 1962 the Inuyama Headworks was completed just below the hill where Inuyama Castle stands, which simultaneously takes water from the Miyata, Kizu, and Hashima irrigation canals on the Gifu side. Separately, the Aichi Irrigation Canal, which irrigates the hilly areas in the eastern part of the Nobi Plain and the water-poor areas of the Chita Peninsula, takes water from the Kaneyama point on the Kiso River. …
