The Cushitic languages are spoken in Ethiopia and neighboring areas. They belong to the Afro-Asiatic family and form one branch of the family. They are divided into five groups: Beja, Agaw, Eastern Cushitic (Garrah, Somali, etc.), Western Cushitic (Kafa languages), and Southern Cushitic (Mbugu, Mbulunge). クシト語派ともいわれ，エチオピアとその隣接地域で話される諸言語。アフロ＝アジア語族に属し，その一つの語派をなす。ベジャ語，アガウ語群，東部クシ語群 (ガラ語，ソマリ語など) ，西部クシ語群 (カファ諸語) ，南部クシ語群 (ムブグ語，ムブルンゲ語) の5群に分れる。
