〘名〙① 物を、くしで刺し通すこと。また、そのもの。※江家次第（1111頃）一「大根一杯苽串刺(クシサシ)二杯」② 古代、他人の土地に、自分の所有権を示す竹や木の神聖な串を刺して、土地を奪うこと。自分の所有権を主張するために行なう行為。点札。草印。※書紀（720）神代上（兼夏本訓）「素戔嗚尊、妬(ねた)みて姉(なねのみこと)の田(あた)を害(やふ)る。〈略〉秋は、則ち、捶籤(クシサシ)し、馬伏(ふせ)す」③ 物を串で刺すように、人などを突き刺して殺すこと。※日葡辞書（1603‐04）「ヒトヲ cuxizaxini(クシザシニ) スル」④ 中世、戦国時代の刑罰の一つ。先のとがった鉄や木などで、からだを刺し通して殺すこと。※甲陽軍鑑（１７Ｃ初）品一七「国司よりくしざしになさるる」⑤ 江戸時代の刑罰の一つ。罪人の首を斬り、木の台にかけて、人目にさらすこと。さらし首。獄門(ごくもん)。梟首(きょうしゅ)。〔改正増補和英語林集成（1886）〕
