Koji Gushiken

Japanese: 具志堅幸司 - ぐしけん こうじ
Koji Gushiken
1956- A gymnastics athlete and coach from the late Showa to Heisei era.
Born on November 12, 1956. Gained strength at Seifu High School in Osaka, and injured her Achilles tendon while attending Nippon Sport Science University, but overcame it through hard work. Placed third in the individual all-around at the World Championships in 1981, and second at the same tournament in 1983. Won two gold medals in the individual all-around and rings at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984. Retired in 1985. After working as an assistant professor at Nippon Sport Science University Women's Junior College, she became a professor at Nippon Sport Science University in 2005. She became a director of the Japan Gymnastics Association in 2007. She is originally from Osaka.
