Koji Gushiken

Japanese: 具志堅幸司 - ぐしけんこうじ

1956－ A gymnastics athlete and coach from the late Showa to Heisei era.
Born on November 12, 1956. Gained strength at Seifu High School in Osaka, and injured her Achilles tendon while attending Nippon Sport Science University, but overcame it through hard work. Placed third in the individual all-around at the World Championships in 1981, and second at the same tournament in 1983. Won two gold medals in the individual all-around and rings at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984. Retired in 1985. After working as an assistant professor at Nippon Sport Science University Women's Junior College, she became a professor at Nippon Sport Science University in 2005. She became a director of the Japan Gymnastics Association in 2007. She is originally from Osaka.

昭和31年11月12日生まれ。大阪の清風高で力をつけ,日本体育大在学中アキレス腱をいためたが,努力で克服。昭和56年世界選手権個人総合3位。58年の同大会で2位。59年ロス五輪で個人総合とつり輪で2個の金メダルを獲得。60年引退。日本体育大女子短大助教授などをへて,平成17年日本体育大教授。19年日本体操協会理事。大阪出身。
