...A sweet made of red bean paste wrapped in a thin mochi skin. It is loved as a mochi sweet among the common people, and other varieties include mame daifuku, which is made by putting boiled peas inside the mochi, and kusa daifuku, which is made by pounding mugwort leaves. From the late Muromachi period, there was a sweet called quail mochi, and when this was baked or branded, it was called uzura-yaki.
