Void Fifth - Kuukyougodo

...Drones are not just one note, but often two notes separated by a perfect fifth. In classical art music, the basis is a triad with a third in between, so these two notes separated by a fifth are called "empty fifths," but even in European folk music, they are not considered to be missing anything. Even within Europe, there are many variations not only in instruments, but also in the quality of the voice and the way of singing.
