A seaweed of the family Clenchedriaceae in the order Clenchedrias, red algae. A worldwide species found in calm areas of the intertidal zone. The algae are reminiscent of a centipede, with branched branches 2-3 mm wide arranged in a feather-like pattern on either side of the main axis. They grow in clumps and reach a height of 20-30 cm.
