An archaeological site located in the western suburbs of Santa Cruz del Quiche, a city in south-central Guatemala. Its Quiche name is Cumarkahu. It was the capital of the Quiche Kingdom, which flourished during the post-classic period of the Maya civilization. It was conquered by the Spaniard Pedro de Alvarado in 1524. グアテマラ中南部の都市サンタクルス‐デル‐キチェの西郊にある遺跡。キチェ語名クマルカフ。マヤ文明後古典期に隆盛したキチェ王国の都があった場所。1524年にスペイン人のペドロ=デ=アルバラードにより征服された。建造物の石材の多くは教会などの建設に用いられ、現在は一部の遺構が見られる。
