An old town in Saihaku County, western Tottori Prefecture. The main settlement, Kishimoto, developed where the Hino River flows into the Yonago Plain, and the Hakubi Line runs through it. The town produces Nijisseiki pears, watermelons, and strawberries. The Sano River Irrigation Canal, completed in 1861 for the reclamation of Chojabaru, runs through it. There is the ruins of a ruined Odera temple (historic site) from the Nara period. 鳥取県西部,西伯(さいはく)郡の旧町。主集落岸本は日野川が米子(よなご)平野に出る地に発達,伯備線が通じる。二十世紀梨,スイカ,イチゴを産する。長者原開墾のため1861年完成の佐野川用水が通じる。奈良時代の大寺廃寺跡(史跡)がある。2005年1月日野郡溝口町と合併し町制,伯耆町となる。39.09km2。7336人(2003)。
