Grand Public News - Daikoho

A Chinese daily newspaper. It was first published in Tianjin in June 1902 by the Manchu Ying Lianzhi. It ceased publication in November 1925, but was relaunched in September 1926, eventually becoming as influential as Shanghai's Shen Bao. Its editorial style was modeled after Japan's Asahi Shimbun, gathering important articles on the front page and sometimes including photographs, which was innovative in China at the time. During the Anti-Japanese War, it was also published in Hankou, Chongqing, Guilin, Hong Kong, and other cities. After the war, it was republished in Shanghai and Hong Kong, but the Shanghai Da Kong Pao moved its publishing office to Tianjin after merging with the Tianjin Progress Daily (a reorganized version of the former Tianjin Da Kong Pao). In 1956, it became a public-private joint venture and moved to Beijing. However, due to the impact of the reorganization of the newspaper industry during the Cultural Revolution, it changed its title to "Zenshin Bao" in September 1966 and reduced its circulation, but ceased publication at the end of 1967.

中国の日刊新聞。1902年6月、満洲族の英斂之(インリエンジ)によって天津(てんしん)で創刊された。25年11月に停刊となったが、26年9月再刊され、やがて上海(シャンハイ)の『申報(しんぽう)』と並ぶ有力紙となった。その紙面編集は、日本の『朝日新聞』を参考にして一面に重要な記事を集め、ときには写真も載せた、当時の中国では斬新(ざんしん)なものであった。抗日戦争中は漢口、重慶(じゅうけい)、桂林(けいりん)、香港(ホンコン)などでも発行。戦後、上海と香港で復刊されたが、上海『大公報』は天津『進歩日報』（以前の天津『大公報』の改組紙）との合併により、発行所を天津に移した。56年、公私合営となり北京(ペキン)に移ったのち、文化大革命下の新聞界改組の影響を受け、66年9月『前進報』と題号をかえ、縮小発行したが、67年末休刊になった。
