Galaxies, which are large groups of stars, also have coronas (called halos) that surround them. These are thought to be high-temperature plasma with magnetic fields leaking out from the galactic disk or active galactic nuclei, which are held back around the galaxy. When viewed with radio waves or X-rays, the presence of these coronas is particularly evident in galaxies moving at high speeds within a galaxy cluster, where some have a fluttering shape due to interactions with the gas within the cluster.
