Nervo, Amado

Born: August 27, 1870 in Tepic
Died: May 24, 1919. Montevideo. Mexican poet. He became acquainted with the Nicaraguan poet R. Dario in Europe, and later contributed to the establishment of modernist poetry in Mexico as editor-in-chief of the magazine Revista Moderna (1898-1903). He later served as a diplomat in Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay. His works include Poemas (1902), Serenidad (14), and La amada inmóvil (20).

メキシコの詩人。ヨーロッパでニカラグアの詩人 R.ダリオと知合い，やがて『レビスタ・モデルナ』誌の編集長 (1898～1903) として，メキシコにおける近代主義の詩の成立に貢献した。のちに外交官としてスペイン，アルゼンチン，ウルグアイにおもむいた。作品は『詩集』 Poemas (1902) ，『静穏』 Serenidad (14) ，『不動の愛人』 La amada inmóvil (20) など。
