Born: August 27, 1870 in Tepic Died: May 24, 1919. Montevideo. Mexican poet. He became acquainted with the Nicaraguan poet R. Dario in Europe, and later contributed to the establishment of modernist poetry in Mexico as editor-in-chief of the magazine Revista Moderna (1898-1903). He later served as a diplomat in Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay. His works include Poemas (1902), Serenidad (14), and La amada inmóvil (20).
