Cape Gyobu

A cape in Iioka, Asahi City, northeastern Chiba Prefecture. It is also written as Gyōbe-misaki. It juts out at the northern end of the Kujukuri Coast and is located at the western end of the Byobugaura sea cliffs, which continue to the Choshi Peninsula. There is a lighthouse on top of the cliffs, which are about 40 meters high, and the surrounding area is farmland. The cliffs are made of Tertiary sandstone and shale, and are being washed by the rough waves of the Pacific Ocean, causing coastal erosion. At the foot of the cape's cliffs is Iioka Fishing Port, a fishing base in the northern part of the Kujukuri Coast.

千葉県北東部、旭市(あさひし)飯岡(いいおか)にある岬。行部岬とも書く。九十九里浜の北端に突き出ていて、銚子(ちょうし)半島へと続く屏風ヶ浦(びょうぶがうら)海食崖(がい)の西端に位置する。高さ約40メートルの断崖上には灯台があり、周囲は畑地となっている。崖(がけ)は第三紀の砂岩や頁岩(けつがん)からなっており、太平洋の荒波に洗われて海岸侵食が進んでいる。岬の崖下に九十九里浜北部の漁業基地飯岡漁港がある。
