Around 1185 - 1245 Franciscan theologian from England. He studied at the University of Paris and initially became a professor in the Faculty of Humanities, but later became a professor in the Faculty of Theology. He broke with tradition by using Peter Lombard's De Propositions instead of the Bible as a text for his lectures, and became a pioneer of speculative scholastic theology. His main work, Summa Theologica, is a representative work of Franciscan theology before the full introduction of Aristotelian philosophy.
