...In recent years, foundry ruins have been discovered in various places, and molds are often found in casting pits. Most of these are excavation ruins, dating from the Nara period to the Muromachi period, but three bell casting pits from the Heian period were discovered at the Kyoto University Faculty of Liberal Arts ruins in Yoshida, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, and seven casting remains from the 14th and 15th centuries were discovered at the Caster's Lounge ruins in Hokonoura, Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
