Pseudoarthrosis

Japanese: 偽関節 - ぎかんせつ（英語表記）pseudoarthrosis

A type of fracture healing disorder. When a fracture occurs, the repair mechanism progresses at the fracture site over time, and the fracture eventually heals. However, the way a fracture heals is affected by various factors such as age, the condition of the fracture itself, and the patient's overall condition. Under good conditions, the healing mechanism is promoted, but under bad conditions, healing is delayed and in some cases the healing mechanism is interrupted. A false joint is a state in which the healing mechanism that has progressed after a fracture has stopped. On the other hand, a fracture in which the progress of the fracture healing mechanism and ossification are delayed is called a delayed-healing fracture, and this state often progresses to a false joint.

骨折の治癒障害の一つ。骨折が生じると時間の経過とともに骨折局所に修復機転が進行し，やがて骨折が治癒する。しかし骨折の治り方は，年齢，骨折自体の状態，全身状態など種々の因子の影響を受け，条件がよければ治癒機転は促進され，悪条件であれば治癒は遅れ，場合によっては治癒機転は中断する。偽関節は骨折後進展してきた治癒機転が停止した状態をいう。一方，骨折治癒機転の進行が遅れ，骨化が遅れているものを遷延治癒骨折と呼ぶが，この状態はしばしば偽関節に移行する。
