Kamikarikura

...A type of costume from the Heian period onwards. It is a type of ketsutekii, with the sleeves and body separate, only slightly connected at the top of the back. It is also characterized by strings at the cuffs. Since the Nara period, ketsutekii was adopted as morning wear for military officers because its shape was convenient for movement, and kariginu was a more active and simpler form of ketsutekii. In other words, it was a private dress commonly used by civilians in ancient times, and hakama with hem ties were worn under this garment. ...
