〘Noun〙 A stone base for a monument carved in the shape of a turtle. By extension, it is another name for a monument. ※Razan Sensei's Anthology (1662) 41, Ukon-dayu Nagai Gettan Koji's monument inscription: "The name of a turtle is carried on its base , and it has been passed down for a hundred generations."
