Balanitis

Japanese: 亀頭炎 - きとうえん（英語表記）balanitis

Inflammation of the glans. It is common in men with phimosis, and when combined with balanoposthitis, it becomes balanoposthitis. Symptoms include itching or a burning sensation on the glans and inside the foreskin, and urine seeping. In severe cases, the glans erodes and develops ulcers. Even in mild cases, repeated episodes can cause adhesion between the glans and foreskin. Treatment involves spraying medicine locally or applying an ointment and waiting for the inflammation to subside. If the inflammation recurs, surgery for phimosis is performed at the appropriate time.

亀頭の炎症。包茎の男子に多く，包皮炎と合併して亀頭包皮炎となる。症状は，亀頭および包皮の内側がかゆく，または灼熱感があり，尿がしみる。重症では亀頭がびらんし，潰瘍をつくる。軽症でも，繰返すと亀頭と包皮が癒着する。治療は，局所に薬剤を散布するか軟膏を塗布して炎症の消退を待ち，炎症を繰返すときは時期をみて包茎の手術をする。
