A village in Gunma County, western Gunma Prefecture. Population 5,176 (1995). Renamed from Kurabuchi Village in 1996. Occupies the western slope of Mt. Haruna and the uppermost reaches of the Karasu River. The central settlement, Sannokura, was a post town on the Shinshu Kaido road during the Edo period. Most of the village area is forest, and the area is thriving for timber products such as cedar and cypress, as well as nameko and shiitake mushrooms. Myoga is a specialty product, and the area boasts one of the highest production volumes in the country, and it also produces konjac. It is designated a depopulated area. Tozenji Temple contains the grave of Oguri Tadamasa, who supported the Tokugawa shogunate in its final days, and the Oguri Relics Museum. 群馬県西部,群馬郡の村。人口5176(1995)。1996年倉淵村から改称。榛名山西斜面と烏川最上流域を占める。中心集落の三ノ倉は江戸時代,信州街道の宿場町であった。村域の大部分は山林で,杉,ヒノキなどの用材やナメコ,シイタケの生産が盛ん。ミョウガが特産で,全国有数の生産高を誇り,コンニャクも産する。過疎地域に指定されている。東善寺に末期の徳川幕府を支えた小栗忠順(ただまさ)の墓と小栗公遺品館がある。
