The Kitazawa Jinnojo Family

Japanese: 北沢甚之丞家 - きたざわじんのじょう

...The main inn was originally run by the Usukura Shin'emon family, and after the Bunsei period (1818-30) the Yamazaki Kizaemon family served as the head innkeeper. In addition, the Kitazawa Jinnojo family established the Kishu Takaba Honjin, and together with the Matsumoto Man'emon family, they served as the Kishu Takaba Bird Watchers. In the great fire of Kitazawa in 1775 (An'ei 4), 85 houses and 11,000 square meters of land were destroyed, dealing a major blow to the inn.
