〘Noun〙① A string attached to the seams of hitatare , suikan , choken , plain sliding doors, etc. to prevent them from unraveling. The name comes from the fact that the end of the braided string is messed up to make a round chrysanthemum shape. When it is left unmessed and tied, it is called "musubi chrysanthemum-shaped". As time went on, it became a decoration. ※Sankyoki - March 23, 1167 (2nd year of Nin'an) "The regent's attendant hakama is as usual, but the chief of the army, Nakatomi Suechika, has two purple chrysanthemums stuck to it ." ※Imagawa Daisoshi (before the 15th century) Kyūho no Shidai no Koto "Two chrysanthemums can be attached to the bow bag." ② The name of a food made from chrysanthemum flowers. White, yellow, red, and other colorful chrysanthemum petals are plucked, put into a tub, salted, cut, and then wrapped in Mino paper and soaked in red miso.
