Prüm Abbey - Prüm Abbey

It was founded in 720 in Prüm in the Eifel region of western Germany by the grandmother and father of Bertrada (?-783), wife of the Frankish king Pepin III, and became an imperial Benedictine monastery in 762. It formed a large manor in Upper Lorraine, mainly through donations from the Carolingian royal family, and according to the land register of 893, it produced harvests of 200 tons of grain, 1,800 pigs, and 4,000 barrels of wine from a land area of about 2,000 huffes. Based on this economic prosperity, it flourished as a cultural center until around 1200.

フランク王ピピン3世の妃ベルトラダBertrada(？‐783)の祖母および父によって，720年ドイツ西部アイフェル地方のプリュムPrümに建立され，762年ベネディクト会の帝国修道院となる。おもにカロリング王家の寄進によって上ロートリンゲンに大荘園を形成し，893年の土地台帳によると約2000フーフェの土地から穀物200t，豚1800頭，ブドウ酒4000樽などの収穫を得ていた。この経済的繁栄に基づき1200年ころまで文化の中心として栄える。
