Japanese: 棄恩入無為 - きおんにゅうむい

〘Noun〙 To abandon feelings of love and affection, cut off worldly attachments, and enter the path of enlightenment. It is usually used as "Abandon gratitude and enter into nothingness, I will truly repay the kindness," and is recited when one becomes a monk and receives the precepts. ※Shin Kokin (1205) Shakyamuni, 1957 "Abandon gratitude and enter into nothingness. If you do not disobey, no matter in what era you have come across and thought of it, people will not know it (Jakuzen)" [Hoen Shurin-22]
