〘Noun〙① Dyed with Umeyasu tannins . Those dyed two or three times are called Akaume, and those dyed many times and darkened are called Kuroume. This seems to have been around since the Muromachi period, and alum, lye, iron oxide, lime, etc. are used as mordants to obtain various shades of brown. ※Mansai Junko Diary - January 7, 1431 ( Eikyo 3) "Yotsuji Saisho Nakano Shorai presents a layer of Ume-zome"② = Ume-gasane (plum- weave) Source: The Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary About the Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary Information |
