[Literary myth]
The main written myths are as follows: (1) The Myth of Tangun in Ancient Korea Hwanung, the son of the Heavenly Emperor Hwanin, was given three Heavenly Seals by his father and descended to the top of Mt. Taebaek under the sacred Danshu tree with 3,000 followers. He found a tiger and a bear in a cave and wished to turn into humans. He instructed them to live in seclusion by eating mugwort and garlic. Only the bear turned into a woman, married Hwanung, and gave birth to Tangun Wanggeom.
