Adam Brothers - Adam Brothers
Two brothers who were leading British neoclassical architects and furniture designers. Their father was the famous Scottish architect William Adam (1689-1748). Their elder brother Robert Adam (1728-92) was born in Kirkcaldy, north of Edinburgh. They went on the Grand Tour from 1754 to 1758, and met the classical architect Charles Louis Clérisseau in France. They surveyed Diocletian's Palace in Spalat, and published the results of their survey in 1764 after returning home.
