...The route taken on this pilgrimage, from Hakone Gongen through Ashigawa-juku, climbing up Mount Kurakake, passing through Jikkoku-toge and the ridge path of Mount Iwato, and reaching Mount Izu, is called the Nisho pilgrimage route. The route that branches off from this route to the northeast at the top of Mount Kurakake, passing through Mount Daikan, Mount Bo, Mount Shirogane, Mount Hijiri, and Mount Ishigaki, and leading to Odawara, is known as the Kanpaku-do or Taiko-do. It is said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi took this route during his conquest of Odawara in 1590 (Tensho 18)....

…この参詣に際してとられた道筋，すなわち箱根権現から芦川宿を経て鞍掛（くらかけ）山に登り，十国峠，岩戸山の尾根道を通り，伊豆山に至る道筋を二所参詣道と呼んでいる。この道から，鞍掛山の頂上で北東に分かれ大観山，坊山，白銀（しろがね）山，聖（ひじり）岳，石垣山を通って小田原に通じる道が，いわゆる〈関白道〉あるいは〈太閤道〉である。1590年(天正18)の小田原征伐に際して豊臣秀吉が通ったことによるという。…
