...The route taken on this pilgrimage, from Hakone Gongen through Ashigawa-juku, climbing up Mount Kurakake, passing through Jikkoku-toge and the ridge path of Mount Iwato, and reaching Mount Izu, is called the Nisho pilgrimage route. The route that branches off from this route to the northeast at the top of Mount Kurakake, passing through Mount Daikan, Mount Bo, Mount Shirogane, Mount Hijiri, and Mount Ishigaki, and leading to Odawara, is known as the Kanpaku-do or Taiko-do. It is said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi took this route during his conquest of Odawara in 1590 (Tensho 18)....
