...Eighth emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam. Reigned 1884-85. Nephew of the fourth emperor, Tu Duc. His childhood name was Phuoc Minh. After the death of Tu Duc in 1883, Emperors Duc Duc, Hiep Hoa, and Kien Phuoc were successively supported and dethroned by powerful officials. In 1884, Nguyen Van Tuong and Ton Tat Tuyet enthroned Phuoc Minh, and the following year was designated the first year of the Xian Yi Dynasty.
